The Assumption College Chorale is an auditioned concert choir, comprised of men and women who, while studying for professions in all walks of life, all share an interest in choral singing. Chorale members receive 1 academic credit per semester, for up to three semesters. These credits count towards the General Education Requirement in Art, Music, and Theater. Singers may continue in Chorale after they have received their three credits.

The Chorale performs a wide range of music, from Gregorian chant to pieces from the twentieth century. Their active performance schedule has included concerts throughout the United States, as well as numerous performances for radio and television.

The Chorale’s international concert tours have taken them to Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Russia. They have sung in some of the great cathedrals of Europe, including Notre Dame in Paris, and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome and they have twice had the distinction of singing for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.

Other concert venues have included St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, and the American Ambassador’s Residence (Spaso House) in Moscow.

Auditions for the Chorale are held by the Director, Dr. Michelle Graveline, at the beginning of each semester.
